Sunderland are interested in signing Uruguayan striker Luciano Rodriguez.
According to Alan Nixon via his Patreon, Rodriguez is of interest to the Black Cats and was scouted by Steve Harvey, Sunderland’s head of player recruitment.
It is said that the club have the money to bring him to the Stadium of Light after saving the money they got from the sale of Ross Stewart to Southampton in August.
Who is Luciano Rodriguez?

He currently plays in his home country for Liverpool Montevideo, and can play anywhere across the front three.
The 20-year-old is a Uruguay under-20 international, scoring 11 goals in 33 games, and was also an unused substitute for the senior team against Cuba in the summer.
He managed six goals and four assists last season in the Uruguayan top flight.
Should Sunderland sign him?
Rodriguez would certainly be a very interesting signing for Sunderland, and also a big risk.
A striker is manager Tony Mowbray’s number one target in January, with none of his recognised strikers scoring a goal so far this season with the likes of Nazariy Rusyn, Mason Burstow and Luis Semedo all failing to put the ball in the back of the net.
Winger Jack Clarke is currently the club’s top scorer with nine goals in 16 Championship games so far this season.
But if Sunderland are going to push themselves more comfortably into the top six and bear the automatic spots, a prolific goal scorer is exactly what they need to get them there.
Wales international Kieffer Moore had been touted as a solution to that problem, whilst AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi had also reportedly attracted interest,
