Wolves have turned down an opening bid for Dion Sanderson, who has been linked with Sunderland.
Birmingham City have had an offer rejected for the defender, according to Birmingham Live.
Earlier reports claimed that Sunderland were one of a few clubs targeting a move for Sanderson though they are yet to make a concrete offer for their former player.

The 23-year-old joined the Black Cats on loan in 2020 and enjoyed a stellar spell on Wearside, with many fans calling for the club to sign him permanently after he was named the Supporters’ Young Player of the Year.
However, Sanderson remained at Wolves and has since enjoyed two stints at St Andrew’s, where he has just returned from this summer.
It is thought that Sanderson could be available for as little as £1.5 to £2 million, with the Blues still in talks with Wolves over a potential deal.
There has been little movement on Sunderland’s behalf, while Stoke City had also been linked with the defender.
He’s a top player but Sunderland don’t need Dion Sanderson anymore
Dion Sanderson was one of the best defenders Sunderland has seen in recent years, which was reflected in his award that came despite being ruled out for the rest of the season in April.

The club definitely should have signed him following his loan spell, however the Black Cats don’t need him anymore.
Tony Mowbray has bolstered his backline with the additions of Jenson Seelt and Nectarios Triantis in recent weeks, with the pair joining the likes of Dan Ballard, Danny Batth and Ali Alese.
The Sunderland boss is going to be spoiled for choice next season and certainly doesn’t need to splash seven figures on another centre-back.
While fans loved Sanderson during his brief time at the Stadium of Light, his time at the club has passed and he wouldn’t necessarily get the regular game time he deserves here.
