Regis Le Bris took a big risk when he moved to Sunderland in June 2024.
The 48-year-old had spent his entire coaching career and most of his playing career in his home country, before most recently leading Lorient down to Ligue 2.
Le Bris’ move to Sunderland was either going to make or break his career, but he had to very quickly adapt to English football and do it without any of his own staff.
The Frenchman’s personal life could receive a massive boost now though, with the news that his nephew could well join another Championship outfit.

Le Bris’ nephew could now join West Brom
According to L’Equipe, West Brom are now targeting left midfielder Theo Le Bris after making an enquiry last week.
The 21-year-old had spent his whole career with his uncle before he left Lorient in the summer, coming up through the academy before making his senior debut in September 2021.
Regis was named first-team head coach in May 2022 and went onto hand him 53 appearances in Ligue 1 over the following two seasons.
The youngster has been named on the bench in Lorient’s opening two fixtures this season and could now jump at the chance at moving to the Championship.
West Brom have already signed the likes of Callum Styles and Lewis Dobbin who can play on the left, so it is unclear how much game-time Le Bris would earn.
However, the Baggies are likely to push for promotion and could well hand him a pathway to the Premier League.
While his uncle will be hoping Sunderland would be challenging him for a place in the top flight too.
Sunderland’s own left midfield is looking less worrying than first thought
Having his nephew in England could be really beneficial for the Black Cats, while it would have been interesting to know whether he would have looked to bring him to the Stadium of Light if Sunderland had needed another young player in that position.
Theo has only bagged seven goal contributions in 61 senior appearances though, and Romaine Mundle has already made it very clear that he hopes to keep that position on lockdown following his display against Burnley.
Wilson Isidor will surely be playing out wide too due to his success there for Lokomotiv Moscow.
If the Frenchman can succeed, then the issue of Jack Clarke’s departure is looking less and less bleak.
