Newcastle United are monitoring Jobe Bellingham after trying to sign him in the summer.
After making five starts in the Championship for Birmingham City last season, Sunderland completed a huge £3 million deal for Jobe Bellingham in June.
Completing his switch on the same day that brother Jude joined Real Madrid, Jobe was extremely highly rated and has quickly impressed on Wearside.
The teenager has netted four goals in 25 games for Sunderland so far, with Niall Quinn recently calling him ‘incredible’ after a stellar start to life at the Stadium of Light.
Jobe’s brilliant form has unsurprisingly attracted interest, with Real Madrid previously sending scouts to watch him on international duty, while Premier League clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with interest.
The England U19 international can now add Newcastle United to his list of admirers too.
According to Daily Mail, the Magpies are keeping tabs on Jobe after trying to sign him in the summer.
The report claims that Newcastle spoke to the Bellingham family in an attempt to lure him to Tyneside last year, as they looked to add him to their U21 team.
However, Jobe instead opted to join Sunderland as he wanted to be guaranteed first-team action from the off.
Newcastle remain interested in signing the 18-year-old though, and will be able to get a closer look at him when they travel to the Stadium of Light for the first Wear-Tyne derby in almost eight years this weekend.

Jobe is likely to retain his place in the starting line-up for the FA Cup clash, in which the Black Cats will be looking to make it ten games unbeaten against their local rivals.
Would Jobe Bellingham really join Newcastle United?
It comes as no surprise that Jobe Bellingham has been linked with a Premier League move – especially given his brother is arguably the best player in the world right now.
The midfielder has certainly exceeded expectations since he left Birmingham City, and he undoubtedly made the correct move joining Sunderland instead of taking the leap straight up to the top flight.
While I can see Jobe eventually joining a team like Spurs, there is surely no chance he would choose to take the short trip over to Tyneside.
He hasn’t been here long, but Jobe will feel well-loved and appreciated at the Stadium of Light. He knows what this rivalry means and I’m pretty sure St. James’ Park would be far down on his list of potential destinations.
Hopefully he can score a goal tomorrow and show them what they are missing, and what they are never going to get.
