Dan Neil is the subject of interest from Liverpool on transfer deadline day.
That’s according to journalist Mike McGrath, who has reported that the Reds have already sent scouts to watch the Sunderland midfielder this season.
McGrath has claimed that Neil is on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs today after a promising start to the campaign.
Neil has attracted plenty of interest from the English top flight since breaking into Sunderland’s first team during the 2021-22 season.

The midfielder looked to snub any reported interest when he signed a new three-year deal with his boyhood club back in March, however a goal and an assist in the first four matches in the Championship have led to a growing fanbase.
Liverpool are one of only two clubs named by McGrath as being linked with a move for the 21-year-old, though they are yet to make a concrete offer for his signature.
Meanwhile, Burnley have reportedly already had a loan bid with an obligation to buy rejected and are set to make a further offer for the England U20 international.
Rejecting Liverpool for Dan Neil is a non-negotiable
It would be a huge surprise to see Neil leave on deadline day, with the club likely to refuse any offer in the final hours of the window.

The midfielder has shone for the Black Cats this season and is set to continue his regular spot in the team, while it would be disappointing to see him leave his beloved club to fight for his place in the top flight.
A move to Burnley seems a lot more likely than Liverpool though, with Neil far from the level required of the Reds’ youngsters.
Jurgen Klopp’s side already have a very young midfield and Neil would even be competing with the likes of Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Stefan Bajcetic for a place on the bench – never mind in the starting line-up.
