Max Power is set to move to Saudi Arabia this summer – two years after he was released by Sunderland.
Wigan Today have reported that the midfielder has rejected a new contract with Wigan Athletic and has agreed a deal to join Saudi Arabia second-tier Al-Qadsiah FC.
Power joined Sunderland in 2018 and went onto reach the 2019 EFL Trophy Final and the League One play-off final, before he as named as team captain and went onto lift the EFL Trophy at the second attempt.

After spending three years on Wearside, Power rejoined Wigan for the second time and won promotion back to the Championship.
Following the Latics’ return to League One this season, Power has opted to leave the financially stricken outfit in favour of a big money move to Saudi Arabia.
The 29-year-old apparently had offers to stay in the English second tier but will instead link up with former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler, who is set to be appointed as Al-Qadsiah FC’s new manager.
Power joins a long list of high-profile names making the move to Saudi Arabia this summer, following the likes of N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema and Ruben Neves.
How did Max Power fare at Sunderland?
Max Power’s three years at Sunderland were a tough one – failing to win promotion and losing at Wembley twice.
The midfielder was often the brunt of a lot of criticism of a struggling team, while Power was always able to ignore it and put his everything into the club.

He certainly wasn’t the most talented of players the club has had in recent years, but he was committed and never really deserved the stick he got once left to rejoin Wigan.
The 29-year-old was released following his contract expiry and went back to his former club, yet for some reason went onto be booed whenever he returned to Wearside.
The period where Power captained the Black Cats are not fondly remembered, but he definitely shouldn’t have taken so much of the blame.
