Who is Sunderland target Alexander Aravena?
So, with Sunderland’s interest established, who is he?
Aravena at just 21 years old is already a full Chile international. With three caps he features alongside the legendary duo Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal regularly.
This season the ‘magnificent‘ youngster has really exploded into a top player for his current club Universidad Católica.
11 goals and four assists in 25 appearances this year in the Primera División in Chile, along with this he has one assist in just one Sudamericana game.
A real threat down the left, with a similar output to Clarke, however, he would probably require a period of adjustment, which means signing him in January to replace a potential Clarke departure next summer is a smart move.
A player with a low centre of gravity and one who already seems to have top-class decision-making on the ball, Aravena could be a real steal for any club interested in him, hopefully, Sunderland are the club that make a move.
