Three strikers that perfectly fit Sunderland model, they’d cost nothing in summer

Another transfer window has passed, and it’s another where Sunderland failed to bolster their attacking department.

Mainly, it’s a striker that Sunderland needed last month.

They’ve needed proper striker additions in at least the last two transfer windows now, owing to injuries and what not, but the Black Cats instead bolstered the defence and midfield with the signings of Leo Hjelde, Romaine Mundle, and Callum Styles.

Three good signings nevertheless. But Sunderland will surely get to the summer and properly search for a new striker, with all of Michael Beale‘s current options having yet to provide the good this season.

With that in mind, here are three strikers who are under 21, and who Sunderland could sign for free in the summer…

Divin Mubama

The West Ham starlet sees his contract expire in the summer after making his breakthrough in the Hammers’ first-team this season.

At 19 years old, Mubama fits the Sunderland mould, and having been limited to just five Premier League outings this season he’ll surely be raring to play some regular first-team football next season.

What’s more is that Mubama has already rejected a new contract offer from West Ham, which could suggest that he’s ready to become a free agent this summer.

Daniel Jebbison could be perfect for Sunderland

Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison has experienced a whirlwind few years.

The Canadian-born striker burst onto the scene during the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, scoring on his full Sheffield United debut vs Everton.

He headed out on loan the following season and scored seven in 20 League One outings for Burton Albion, but he’s failed to kick on since being recalled by United that season.

He scored just the one goals in 16 Championship outings last season with injury keeping him out this time round.

Liverpool were once taking a look at the powerful 20-year-old, who’s set to become a free agent this summer.

Sinclair Armstrong

QPR’s bullish centre-forward Sinclair Armstrong is out of contract in the summer, and he’s already not short of suitors.

Premier League and Championship clubs are eyeing up the Republic of Ireland U21s star but QPR are already reported to have offered him a new dela.

But that was back in October, and there’s been no news since, suggesting that Armstrong is biding his time as QPR battle against relegation from the Championship.

Armstrong had scored twice and assisted three in 26 Championship outings this season; he’s a powerful forward who can run all day, and with a bit of fine-tuning, he could become a top player for Sunderland.
