One Sunderland star has unsurprisingly ranked high in one key stat so far this season.
Sunderland are looking to continue their brilliant start to the 2024/25 Championship campaign as they face off against a struggling Queens Park Rangers side.
The Black Cats will without a doubt fancy their chances of replicating their recent brilliant showings, especially the home win against Oxford United, which saw several players help to dominate the U’s at the Stadium of Light.
Particularly in the attacking sense, Sunderland have been relentless up until this point in the 2024/25 Championship season, with Wilson Isidor particularly proving to be a brilliant signing for the Black Cats.
Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle have also been ‘outstanding’ and have unsurprisingly tied down their spots in the two flanks for the side in Wearside after both managing to top the brilliant abilities showcased in the previous two seasons by Jack Clarke until his departure to Premier League side Ipswich Town. The latter of which has been particularly crucial in taking over from Clarke, and there is no surprise to see him near the summit of a list of players in one particular stat.

Romaine Mundle dribbling stats show one clear difference in his game at Sunderland
21-year-old winger Mundle was first introduced to Wearside in the latter stages of the lacklustre 2023/24 Championship season, which saw the Black Cats fall to a plucky 16th place.
Mundle played a part in the side, and in his 11 appearances, Sunderland managed just two wins. The winger was without a doubt capable of making a difference, but he and the rest of the side just lacked that confidence that gave them that finishing touch.
However, since Regis Le Bris’ arrival, Mundle and the rest of the side have been transformed in regards to confidence, and this is certainly reflected in the dribbling stats for the attacker, with him currently ranking 2nd in the list of Championship players with the most successful dribbles, via WhoScored.
A Sunderland player having the confidence to take on their man in the twilight of the 2023/24 campaign was certainly a rare sight, and it is brilliant that Le Bris has successfully turned this problem around, as embodied by the performances of Mundle.

Regis Le Bris could follow suit with out-of-form Black Cats attacker
Sunderland, as mentioned previously, look a completely different side under Le Bris on the attacking front, even though the forward line is arguably weaker with the exclusion of Clarke.
The fact that le Bris has turned around the Sunderland careers of Mundle, as well as Roberts, who was by no means in decent form last year, suggests that he could potentially replicate that fate with Ukrainian attacker Nazariy Rusyn.
The 26-year-old arrived for a seven-figure fee prior to the 2023/24 campaign, and it is fair to say that he has never been able to show his goalscoring abilities for the club.
If the French boss can potentially unlock this, Sunderland will have yet another solid attacking option, and it is clear that he has these abilities as seen by his 13-goal season in the Ukrainian Premier League.
