Regis Le Bris should reverse his transfer stance over one Sunderland star due to his importance in getting the best out of Enzo Le Fee.

The Black Cats made the shrewd signing of Enzo Le Fee on loan from Italian giants Roma at the wake of the January transfer window, with more additions expected in the latter stages of the month.

Whilst the priority at the moment lies with Sunderland looking to bring in a striker, although previous attempts have been unsuccessful with both target Tom Cannon and Ben Brereton Diaz moving to fellow promotion candidates Sheffield United, strides are still being made, with the Black Cats being linked to Chuba Akpom.

Sunderland will also be looking to shorten the squad numbers this January, with several players already looking likely to move on.

One player that Regis Le Bris is seemingly undecided on, but isn’t ruling out from moving on is Adil Aouchiche, however, the Frenchman’s departure could cause issues for Le Fee, with one prominent aspect potentially hindering his ability on the line.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris must keep Adil Aouchiche following Enzo Le Fee position concerns

Ever since Le Fee has joined up with Sunderland, there have been no concerns over his ability, already looking incredibly on the ball. However, some have suggested that he isn’t quite being utilised to the best of his abilities on the left-flank, an area that was filled by Aouchiche before Le Fee’s arrival.

Aouchiche had shown quality at left-wing before he was dropped in favour of Le Fee. Le Bris, per Sunderland Echo, has now said in response to Aouchiche’s future at the club: “With Adil, it’s still open… We want for both sides, Adil and the club, we want to open up different options and at the end we will decide what is the better option for the both.”

Without Aouchiche in the squad, Le Fee will still likely be play down the left, as opposed to his favoured central area, where he may potentially get more coverage of the ball.

Regis Le Bris must not underestimate Adil Aouchiche ability again

In the first half of the season, there was a clear reluctance by French boss Le Bris in looking to use Aouchiche in his side, with him not being handed a single start until the recent 1-0 league defeat to Stoke City.

The three starts that he has been handed has seen him slot in sufficiently, not only adding depth to left wing, but also some excitement as he looks to hug the sideline, whilst also showing confidence in taking it past his man.

Le Bris has already underestimated the ability of Aouchiche at the start of this campaign, and letting him go this January would be a mistake for several reasons, from the lack of depth on the wing that will see Le Fee continue to be utilised there, to the raw ability that he offers to the side, whether from a starting position or from off-the-bench.
