Jobe Bellingham will face his boyhood side for the first time this weekend when Sunderland face Birmingham. He also has the chance to show the Blues boss Wayne Rooney exactly what he missed out on.

Sunderland managed to lure Jobe Bellingham to the club during the summer as the Black Cats were at the time by far the better project.

But now Birmingham have ambitious owners and a legend of English football at the helm in Wayne Rooney.

Rooney is still looking for his first win as boss, something Tony Mowbray will be keen remains the case on Saturday.

One story within the match will be Jobe’s first game against his former side since his departure, in the game he has the opportunity to show Rooney exactly what he missed out on.

Jobe can make Birmingham rue sale

Sold in the summer, Bellingham will definitely have a chip on his shoulder this weekend the prove to the St Andrews crowd that he made the correct call.

Bellingham if he was still playing for Birmingham would probably be an instant favourite of Rooney, given the former striker’s struggles in finding his number 10 this season.

Ollie Burke and Jordan James are two names who have played the role for Rooney, with neither impressing. This however is where Jobe has been thriving for Sunderland which will probably have Rooney very envious this weekend.

Birmingham are crying out for a player with the qualities of Jobe, which makes him being ours all the more sweeter.

Jobe will have the chance to showcase his talent and make his former side left ruing allowing him to leave, but we know that Mowbray is delighted that they did.

With the extra motivation, Jobe could be one to watch with a potentially great performance in the making for our young midfielder.
