Sunderland parted ways with a number of players in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Black Cats started their summer business quite late on, but picked up the pace last month and eventually brought in nine players.
Similarly, having only released four players at the end of last season, they went onto offload a further nine stars before transfer deadline day.
Pierre Ekwah, Timothee Pembele and Luis Hemir all left Sunderland in the final days of the window and are yet to be given a chance to impress at their new loan clubs.
However, the remaining departures have all been given opportunities away from Wearside, with some impressing and others struggling.

How Sunderland’s departures have fared so far
Alex Bass
Bass only made one appearance for Sunderland before joining Notts County this summer.
The goalkeeper has made five starts for the League Two club this term – picking up two clean sheets and only conceding twice.
Notts County are unbeaten in the fourth division so far and sit in second place.
Nathan Bishop
Bishop managed only two appearances for Sunderland last season and has since joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan.
The 24-year-old started their first two matches of the campaign and conceded six goals, before suffering an injury that has kept him out of action ever since.
Wycombe have lost only one of their four games in all competitions since, so Bishop may struggle to get his place back once he returns to full fitness.
Nectar Triantis
Triantis returned to Hibernian for a second loan spell and was hailed for his ‘excellent’ second debut in the Scottish Premiership against Kilmarnock.
The defender had 62 touches, 26 passes, three headers, the most tackles (5), the most successful dribbles (5), four clearances, three interceptions and also hit the woodwork once.
Triantis has been pushed into midfield at Hibs and seems to be thriving in his new position.
Ellis Taylor
Many Sunderland fans were frustrated when Taylor was released, given his hugely successful season with the U21s.
The left-back has since joined Harrogate Town and has started six games in all competitions, scoring on his first League Two start, as well as picking up an assist in their Carabao Cup win over Lincoln City.
Corry Evans
Evans was released following an injury-ridden year at Sunderland, but he is yet to find a new club.
The midfielder hasn’t even been linked with any new teams and is running out of time after turning 34 years old this summer.
Elliot Embleton
Embleton returned to Blackpool for a second loan spell this summer, having spent a significant period on the sidelines.
The midfielder was highly influential in his previous stint at Bloomfield Road, but has so far had to settle for a place on the bench in League One.
Embleton did make three starts across cup competitions, while he picked up an assist in their EFL Trophy win over Crewe Alexandra.
Bradley Dack
Dack endured a poor spell at Sunderland, making six starts in the Championship as he struggled with multiple injuries.
The midfielder has since joined his former club Gillingham, but has only managed one appearance in the EFL Trophy.
Dack has only made it on the bench once, but has otherwise been sidelined with even more injury problems.
Jay Matete
Matete joined Bolton Wanderers on loan over the summer and was heavily praised by supporters following his debut.
However, the 23-year-old has been forced to settle for cameos in League One, but did pick up an assist in their EFL Trophy win over Barrow.
Jack Diamond
Diamond joined Stockport County following his release from Sunderland.
The winger started their first three matches of the League One season but was dropped for a 1-1 draw against Mansfield Town.
Diamond also picked up an assist in a win over Accrington Sanley in the Carabao Cup.
