Sunderland summer signing, Nazariy Rusyn has admitted that he has had a difficult start to life in England. He is still hopeful of finding success, however.
The forward joined in the summer from Zorya Luhansk but after some complications, wasn’t able to make his debut until late September.
So far the Ukrainian has only played 30 minutes across four games so far since his move and is yet to find the net.
This is the first time that he has played in England and will take some time to acclimatise to everything.
With him on international duty with Ukraine this past week, it gives him a chance to take in some home comforts before his return.
Nazariy Rusyn opens up
Moving to a new country, on your own and not knowing the language can not be underestimated. This is hard for anybody to deal with.
On that, the forward said: “It’s hard for me because I don’t know the language. This is the main problem. Communication is very important for football players.

It has been a difficult start to life in the North East for Rusyn and those kind of issues won’t help him to feel at home.
That being said, he isn’t giving up hope: “I need time, I understand that I’m not in a hurry. I try to listen to the coach, do what he wants, and just get used to it.”
Adapting to new surroundings
Football is a sport played all over the world and it is played differently everywhere you go.
In England, there is no tougher place to acclimatise to than the Championship. From long ball to quick passing play, it has it all.
On that, Rusyn said: “The pace is much higher, and every team can beat every team. Almost all clubs are equal.
“The games are very difficult, there are no easy matches. It’s a high level, a very good championship. I am very glad that I got into a team where I can play and develop.”
In spite of some difficulties, the Ukraine international is showing the attitude and mindset of all great players. Pushing through some struggles to become as good as he can be.
