Roy Keane sends Sunderland warning
A lot has gone wrong for Sunderland this season. After hopes that they would kick on from their last campaign, things couldn’t have gone much worse.
Now, the Black Cats sit without a permanent manager, stuck in the middle of the Championship. Many factors can be argued as to blame but Keane highlights one major issue with the Sunderland squad.
Much of the first team are young with the Black Cats outing many of the experienced players. Keane has insisted this is a mistake, with the average age of a promoted team being 29.

Emerging managerial claim

After Michael Beale’s sacking, Mike Dodds have been in charge of first-team affairs until the end of the season.
A new permanent manager is expected in the summer and it is an appointment Sunderland have to get right. Beale was a disaster at the Stadium of Light and had one of the shortest spells at the club.
However, in a recent Supporters’ Collective meeting, a worrying claim emerged. The club highlighted the fact that despite the process of appointing a new manager being long, it might not result in the right outcome.

Worrying Chris Rigg trend

One of the few bright sparks this season has been Rigg. The academy graduate has burst into the starting XI in recent weeks and shown bundles of potential.
In the international break, Rigg was away with the England U17s and had a bright start. However, things took a turn in his final game.
Against France, he saw himself pick up a red card as his side went on to lose 2-1.
