Lynden Gooch has sent a hilarious response to Sunderland’s recent tweet whilst in San Antonio.
Taking to his Twitter account, the American replied to a photo of himself and a number of other players at the AT&T Center – home to the San Antonio Spurs.
Gooch was surrounded by the likes of Danny Batth, Dan Ballard and Pierre Ekwah and he certainly saw the funny side to the snap, tweeting: “Got my bodyguards with me”.
Standing at around 5 ft 8, Gooch is made to a lot smaller by the towering players surrounding him, with Batth thought to be around seven inches taller than his teammate.

The 27-year-old received plenty of responses from fans laughing along at the photo ahead of Sunderland’s pre-season clash with New Mexico United tomorrow.
The Black Cats have travelled over 600 miles this week as they prepare for their second match of the USA tour, having beaten San Antonio 3-1 at the weekend.
Gooch has found himself with the captain’s armband during pre-season, despite recent reports claiming that he could be on his way out.
SI have claimed that the full-back is wanted by the likes of Stoke City, Preston North End and QPR as he enters the final year of his contract.
Lynden Gooch’s versatility and personality will be a huge loss to Sunderland
Lynden Gooch certainly wasn’t the most talented player among Sunderland’s ranks, however his hard work, dedication and passion made him a favourite at the club.

Despite being born in Santa Cruz, Gooch was really seen as ‘one of our own’ on Wearside and made his love for the club very clear through his performances on the pitch.
As well as that, Gooch’s versatility has made him a huge asset under Tony Mowbray – especially during a difficult injury-stricken spell last season.
The defender will be a major loss for the club, players and fans, however it is probably time for him to start a new chapter elsewhere.
