Jude Bellingham has tipped his one obvious Sunderland star to follow in his footsteps in winning the Golden Boy award.
Speaking to Tuttosport, the Real Madrid midfielder named Jobe Bellingham as one of three players that he could see winning the award in the future.
Jude was unsurprisingly named as the 2023 Golden Boy last month, having enjoyed a spectacular year across Europe.
The 20-year-old began 2023 with five goals and two assists as he helped Borussia Dortmund to push for the Bundesliga title right until the last day, before missing out to Bayern Munich.
He then earned himself a huge move to Real Madrid in the summer, with Los Blancos coughing up an initial £88.5 million to bring him to the club.
Bellingham has since bagged an impressive 15 goals and four assists in only 17 games for Real Madrid.
The youngster joins the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to win the award in recent years, while Raheem Sterling (2014) and Wayne Rooney (2004) are the only Englishmen to win it.
However, Jude definitely doesn’t think he will be the last Brit and has named two more in his predictions for upcoming winners, as well as a Real Madrid teenager.
When asked who he thinks could win the Golden Boy award, Jude said: “Aside from those born in 2003, I can name three players.
“Arda Guler, who has recovered from injuries that have prevented him from making his debut with Real Madrid. He is a phenomenon and we see it in training, we are all amazed by him.

“Then, my former Borussia Dortmund teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and my brother Jobe.”
Jobe is currently not eligible for the award as he plays in the Championship, but Jude was quick to respond to that, saying: “For now. But if they move up to the Premier League, watch out for him!”
Can Jobe meet Jude Bellingham’s expectations?
Jobe Bellingham is an undeniable talent and has, for the most part, been exceptional since moving to the Stadium of Light.
However, the midfielder has definitely been overplayed and showed very obvious signs of a burnout before he was dropped against Millwall.
Hopefully Tony Mowbray begins to rotate him a bit more, especially over Christmas, because we can’t afford to lose him to injury or fatigue.
Jobe will definitely become a very big player in the future and it would be a miracle if Sunderland managed to keep hold of him to be able to get to that point, but for now it would be a privilege to watch him grow on Wearside.
To say we developed a Golden Boy winner would be pretty nice though…
