At the Black Cats, the upcoming friendlies present plenty of opportunities for supporters. On top of new potential signings, the matches will likely be the first time fans will see the new manager, Regis Le Bris.

Sunderland pre-season fixtures
Every Sunderland pre-season fixture will be available to stream via the club’s website for £7 per game.
South Shields vs Sunderland
Sunderland’s first game of pre-season will be against local side South Shields. The non-league outfit will host the match at the 1st Cloud Arena. The friendly will be hosted on Saturday, July 12, with kick-off at 12:30pm.
Gateshead vs Sunderland
Following the South Shields match, Sunderland will return to action on the same day. This time they will travel to Gateshead to take on the National League outfit. Hosted at the Gateshead International Stadium, kick-off will take place at 5pm.
Sunderland 2024 pre-season tour
Sunderland will also be on their travels outside of the UK this summer. The Black Cats have organised a pre-season tour to Alicante, Spain where they will take part in two fixtures.
Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland
Sunderland’s first game in Spain will involve the club taking on Premier League side Nottingham Forest. The game will take place on Friday, July 19 at the Pinatar Arena with kick-off at 6pm UK time.
Eldense vs Sunderland
Two days later, Sunderland returns to action as they face Spanish second-tier side Eldense. The match will take place at the Pinatar Arena again on Sunday, July 21 with kick-off once again at 6pm UK time.
Blackpool vs Sunderland
Upon returning to England, Sunderland will once again be on their travels as they face Blackpool. The League One outfit will host the fixture at Bloomfield Road. The match will take place on Saturday, July 27 with kick-off at 3pm. Tickets are available to purchase here.
Bradford City vs Sunderland
The final confirmed friendly match for Sunderland so far is against Bradford City. The Black Cats will travel to Valley Parade on Tuesday, July 30 to take on the League Two side. Kick-off is at 7:30pm with tickets available to purchase here.
