Sunderland play away at Swansea City on Saturday, as Regis Le Bris’ side look to regain form after a patchy run in the Championship.
It’s now just one win in eight games for Sunderland. The Black Cats have seen their rampant early form under Regis Le Bris well and truly dwindle, now sitting five points behind leaders Sheffield United in the Championship table.
Last time out, Patrick Roberts’ late equaliser rescued a point for Sunderland against Bristol City at the Stadium of Light, with Sunderland haven taken four points from two home games in quick succession.
On the road, however, it’s a different story: Sunderland haven’t won away from Wearside in four now, losing their last game on the road 1-0 at Sheffield United.
Swansea City meanwhile are steadily picking up form. After a 2-1 win at Plymouth Argyle in the week, the Swans find themselves in 9th place of the table and unbeaten in their last four.

Sam Parkin shares Swansea City vs Sunderland score prediction
Speaking on the Championship Check In podcast, EFL expert Sam Parkin shared his score prediction for Sunderland’s game against the Swans.
And Parkin has backed Swansea to win 2-0. He said: “I quite fancy Swansea here. They’ve had a great week, haven’t they, the four points.”
On Sunderland, Parkin added: “They’ve had that series of dropped points but it came in the form of draws really, in recent times.
“I’m going to go for a bit of an outlier here. I’m going to go for it to come together for Swansea – this will be a really good football match for the neutral – in a pretty convincing way.”
Did Sam Parkin correctly predict Sunderland vs Bristol City?
Parkin is never too far away with his Championship predictions. But Parkin’s score prediction for Sunderland against Bristol City was wayward in the end.
He predicted the Black Cats to win 2-1 on the night. Instead, they left it late to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw.

Swansea City vs Sunderland H2H and results last season
Swansea are a bit of a modern bogey team for Sunderland, with the Black Cats’ last win against the Welsh outfit coming back in 2016.
The two teams have played each other six times since then and Swansea have won five of those meetings, including the last one with Swansea City beating Sunderland 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.
Last time Sunderland played Swansea away from home, the game was goalless. Interestingly, Sunderland’s last win against Swansea was at the Swans’ home ground, with the Black Cats winning 4-2 in what was a Premier League fixture at the time.
