Sunderland have been told what they must do in order to ensure a win against Stoke City.
The Black Cats face off against Stoke City this weekend at the Stadium of Light, where they will be looking to put an abrupt stop to a dreadful run in the Championship, which has seen them go winless in their previous six games.
The current Sunderland side are lacking the ‘positive belief’ needed in front of goal according to French boss Regis Le Bris, whose side have notched just the one goal in their previous three outings in the Championship.
It is the perfect opportunity for Sunderland to notch a well-needed win against an out-of-form Stoke City side, and the Black Cats have been told that they must replicate one thing they put on show in the narrow defeat against Sheffield United in order to come away from the upcoming game with all three points.

Sunderland told what they must replicate after last time out against Stoke City
Despite a solid performance at Bramall Lane last time out for Le Bris’ side, they fell to a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a late winner by former Everton midfielder Tom Davies. The showing had many positive signs, but showcased Sunderland being inefficient in front of goal yet again, with it including a penalty miss courtesy of Patrick Roberts.
However, Sunderland have been told that the ‘intensity’ they showed against the Blades is exactly what they need in order to notch their first win in six.
Per Second Tier Podcast on YouTube, Justin Peach gave his prediction on the upcoming game, where he said: “They’re [Sunderland] still a tough cookie to come up against.
“The performance against Sheffield United last week away from home was good and if they can replicate that intensity here, I feel they can beat a Stoke team who have won just two away games this season.
“The likes of Wilson Isidor have dropped off, Patrick Roberts obviously missed a penalty last week but I think if Sunderland can keep it tight and nick something in the way of a goal, I think they’re more likely to do it than Stoke.
“Sunderland are certainly in a bit of a sticky patch but I’m thinking this must be them looking at this game as their chance to get back.”

Stoke City clash is perfect opportunity to get back on track for Regis Le Bris’ side
Stoke City’s recent form has seen them unable to bag themselves a single win in their previous four games, with them most recently succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to Scott Parker’s Burnley at home.
Le Bris’ side, despite their recent form, should be going into this game with confidence that they can get back to winning ways, and there is no better place to do that than at the Stadium of Light, where the Black Cats still find themselves to be unbeaten so far in the 2024/25 campaign.
The pressure will be on Sunderland to perform this weekend and finally show some tangible product for their respectable performances, and it is a real opportunity for the confidence to be instilled into the attacking ranks.
