Sunderland star Chris Rigg is enjoying a whirlwind season in the Championship under Regis Le Bris.
Sunderland fans got a taste of what Chris Rigg could offer last season, with the then 16-year-old making 21 Championship appearances and scoring twice.
But this time round, under Regis Le Bris, Rigg has become a key player in the starting XI, with two goals in nine league appearances already this season.
Rigg’s been in fine form scoring the winning goal against Middlesbrough with a cheeky back-heel, then scoring in the last outing against Leeds United.
Real Madrid have been linked with Rigg this season. It’s also reported that Manchester United could swoop for Rigg in the upcoming January transfer window.
No price tag has yet been put on the Sunderland academy man, who signed a professional contract until 2027 during the summer.
Sunderland have been told to command £25m for Rigg should any team make their move soon.

Chris Rigg scoops EFL Young Player of the Month award for September
Rigg enjoyed a strong September, starting games against Plymouth Argyle, Sunderland, and Watford.
The Black Cats lost two of those three games but retain their spot in 1st place of the Championship table ahead of the return of football this weekend.
On Friday, it was announced that Rigg has scooped the EFL’s Young Player of the Month award for September.
And he becomes just the fourth player to win the award whilst playing for the Black Cats; Josh Maja, Amad Diallo, and Dan Neil are the others.
What’s the latest on Chris Rigg’s Sunderland future?
With January rapidly approaching, we could soon see the rumours linking Rigg with a move away from the Stadium of Light heat up.
Recently though, little has been said about the youngster, expect that Real Madrid view Rigg as a back-up option should they fail to sign Florian Wirtz.
Bayer Leverkusen value Wirtz at £125million, with Madrid rivalling Manchester City for the signing of the attacking midfielder who City view as an heir to Kevin De Bruyne.
It’s claimed that Real Madrid will move for Rigg should they fail to sign Wirtz, who looks set to be on the move during the January transfer window.
Uncertainty over Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United future seems to have nulled the Red Devils’ links to Rigg for the time being.
Expect a number of clubs to keeping tabs on Rigg right now, though.
