Steve Bruce ‘amazed’ with one thing Sunderland did against Leeds

Despite their current form, Mike Dodds managed to earn Sunderland a fantastic point against promotion-chasers Leeds on Tuesday night.

The Black Cats were really up against it throughout the game but held on to secure a 0-0 draw.

Former manager Steve Bruce was watching the game and said that he was ‘amazed’ that Sunderland sat back and defended throughout.

Many of Sunderland’s first-team players have not covered themselves in glory in 2024. A terrible spell in the new year saw any hopes of the playoffs quickly dwindle.

This has seen widespread criticism of many of the squad with one even being labelled the second-worst player in the Championship
