Jack Clarke has had his best ever start to a season and has arguably been one of the best players in the Championship over the opening eight games.
One thing that is for definite is that the Sunderland winger is officially the best dribber in the English second tier right now, as confirmed by WhoScored.
Clarke’s dramatic rise comes as a pleasant surprise to fans, with many underwhelmed by his initial loan spell during the Black Cats’ promotion-winning season from League One.
The forward netted one goal and provided three assists before Sunderland made his stay permanent for a seven-figure sum.

Clarke went onto drastically improve in the Championship, claiming nine goals and 12 assists as Sunderland reached the play-offs.
Clarke was the subject of numerous bids from Burnley, and Sunderland supporters were relieved when they managed to keep hold of him, while they will be even more delighted by his ‘amazing’ start to the campaign.
The 22-year-old already has seven goals in only eleven games in the Championship this time round, while WhoScored have revealed that he has also completed the most dribbles in the league (31) and attempted the most too (66).
Clarke completed 89 dribbles in the whole of last season and is on course to smash that tally this time round.
Jack Clarke is too good for the Championship
Jack Clarke is a constant threat down the left side for Sunderland and has massively improved in front of goal too.
Unfortunately, those on Wearside aren’t the only ones aware of these stats though. Interest in the attacker is increasing once again and it is looking like it could be very difficult for Tony Mowbray to keep hold of his star man.

To lose Clarke in January would be an absolute disaster and one that I don’t think would be necessary. The former Tottenham Hotspur man seems very happy at the SoL and I think he would be willing to help us reach the play-offs.
If we fail to win promotion to the Premier League then I think we can accept he will leave for the top flight himself – something he has definitely earned.
