Many Sunderland fans have made the same point about striker Wilson Isidor after the Black Cats’ win versus Portsmouth.
Eliezer Mayenda burst forward with pace and played an excellent through pass to give Isidor the chance to take the lead.
The Frenchman duly delivered with an emphatic finish past the Pompey goalkeeper and that finish proved the difference between the two sides.
Sunderland supporters have since taken to social media to praise Isidor for his decisive performance at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland fans rave about Wilson Isidor after Portsmouth win
Isidor thoroughly deserved his goal as he led the line effectively throughout the game. He was also unlucky not to score twice after having one ruled out for a narrow offside call.
Sunderland supporters took to X to share their thoughts on the striker who is really starting to find his feet on Wearside.
One said: “Wilson Isidor demonstrating exactly how it’s done, making this look so simple.” “That was a brilliant goal. This boy is amazing,” another added.
A Sunderland fan posted: “Isidor doing Isidor things. Love him.” One commented: “Wilson Isidor. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”
“That goal epitomises the best of this Sunderland side,” a Black Cats supporter explained. “Two quality, incisive passes played at high pace on the counterattack and a cool, calm, deft finish from Wilson Isidor.”
“Give him a 10-year contract. I’m not even taking the [mick],” another wrote. They were probably joking but the striker has already become a fan favourite so why not?

Wilson Isidor can have excellent Sunderland career
Isidor already has eight Championship goals to his name in the 2024/25 season and that’s with plenty of missed chances earlier on in the campaign.
If the Frenchman can continue finishing as well as he has lately, he could easily surpass the 20-goal mark given how many opportunities the Black Cats create.
The big concern for Sunderland supporters is that he is only on loan. However, the club do hold the option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
The transfer fee required is not public knowledge but whatever it is, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus will surely be prepared to pay it.
